Biotic Natural Phenomena

Share
Biotic natural phenomena is the condition of environment around us which is shown by the condition of the organisms in it

Do you often see a pool in which the color of water changes to green? Or maybe a piece of bread with fine white to black on the surface

Why do these happen

The pool surface changes to green because it is covered with algae. Algae are organism which are allow able to produce their own food through photosynthesis process. To carry out the process, some mineral, water, and carbon dioxide are needed. The pool water contains a lot of mineral, for example because of the excessive use of fertilizer in farmlands which is then carried by rainwater in to the pool or because of detergent coming from the water that has been used for washing clothes which then enters the pool, the photosynthesis process can take place so food stock for the algae is available in abundance

Due to the abundant food and supporting environment condition, the algae can grow well, beside algae have the ability to reproduce, so the number can increase fast.

The fast growth and reproduction of the algae cause the entire pool surface to look green. The covering of pool surface by algae which grow very fast make sunlight unable to penetrate into the pool. This condition is highly make sunlight unable to penetrate into the pool. This condition is high disadvantageous to the life of other organism in to the pool.

How do you fell when you see a pool the surface of which is green because it is covered with algae? Certainly you fell feed you don’t like seeing it or you may even fell disgusted or my spontaneously cover you nose when passing the pool the pool because of the stinky smell. The pool smells stinky because of the process of decomposition of the dead algae by decomposing organisms.

How about the bread the surface of which is covered with fiber which look like thread or fur which are white to black in color?

The thread-like fiber or fur which are which to black in color growing on the surface of the bread are actually fungi. The fungi can grow on the bread surface because usually bread is wrapped in a plastic package, making it humid. Fungi will grow fast in a humid place. Therefore, if bread is kept for a long time, I will gradually be covered by fungi that grow fast on it. If we smell the bread, it will smell strongly moldy.

It the bread is in a condition like that, will we still eat it?

Certainly we will not The bread is not proper to eat anymore.

The pool in which the surface is entirely covered by algae and the bread covered by fungi are examples of biotic natural phenomena which we often see in everyday life.

Now: please give other examples of biotic natural phenomena which often happen in everyday life.
